Tinsel Thursday
What a brave way to celebrate Christmas. The sales team braved the elements for the worthy cause of the Laura Crane Trust and dressed up for the day. Collections were made in the office block from anyone who could be parted with their money. ME Consultancy topped that sum up so over 500 was collected on the day.

Thank you to Pamela Thornes of the Laura Crane Trust who helped organise the event and thank you to all who particpated and contributed. The funds were to be put towards providing music players for children who were in hospital over Christmas.
Colne Valley Ladies

13 brave ladies from the Colne Valley Ladies Circle made an incredible fundraising effort by walking the equivalent of a full marathon. This is the memory from Kathy Roche; I enjoyed the first 13 miles but by then it started to get cold and by 18 miles I could quite happily have got in a taxi and gone back to the hotel and slept - by 22 Lynn & Lara had already finished, leaving me and Julie still going and by 24 miles we must have looked like a pair of Thunderbird puppets as body and legs had no co-ordination whatsoever and we had definitely lost the will to live by his point! The officials were really good, but too chirpy by far with their encouraging "well done... you're nearly there" but at 20 miles they got "DON'T LIE THERE'S STILL 6.2 MILES TO GO" in reply!

But we made it with a few tears at the end in relief more than anything else. Our area chairman Janine asked if we'd do it again next year and I bet you can guess my reply ?!?!?!!!!! Reckon I'll stick to drinking beer as my charity efforts now! We all finished so that's an achievement in itself and we reckon between us we'll have raised over 7500! Not bad I thought. Thanks to you for your continuing support of Ladies Circle and our charity efforts and I doubt the SMileS logo has had so many bounces in a 24 hour period before!

When ME Consultancy saw an appeal from a group of local cheerleaders, they were happy to contribute.

Nottinghamshire Police
When we were asked to help towards the 'Christopher MacDonald Trust' we were unsure of what it was all about. On learning more we were delighted to take the opportunity of contributing to such a noble cause. It is a local charity to Nottingham, in memory of a young officer murdered in 1978 in Worksop, whilst trying to arrest a man for Burglary. It pays for young Officers to undertake development and leadership courses outside the Service. Currently 8 Officers a year are selected to attend a 2 week course around March time. His Mother still takes an active interest in the Trust as did his Father up to his death in 2003.
